The series is fictional but inspired by the young people we work with as teen and family coaches. The books provides the reader with a large number of strategies we use in our one-on-one coaching sessions with young clients. “I loved, loved, LOVED this book!

Not only did it teach me a little about Norse mythology, but it also made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me stop and think … and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
The characters are incredibly well-written – with their personalities, characteristics and quirks having been so realistically described, much of the story took me back to my own pre-teen years, when I was experiencing the same trials and tribulations as Freya and Thor as they each deal with their own childhood angst.

Without giving away too much of the plot, all I will say is that every child, whatever their age – and many adults too – will relate to the issues encountered by the characters in this book. Suffice to say that not only is this a captivating story that totally tugged at my heartstrings in places, but it reinforces some extremely valuable life lessons too.

In short, this is a wonderful book – if you’re a child… read it, and then get your friends to read it – if you’re a parent, read it and then get your kids to read it. And then, as I did, read it again, and enjoy it even more the second time around smile emoticon

I don’t know if the second book in the series will continue on from where this one left off, but I hope so – it would be great to know what happens next.
